Installation
Remove all weapons and fragile equipment before beginning installation and donning/doffing daily!
Do NOT just lay both belts on a flat surface for alignment, as they will not line up when wrapped around your body.

Have a partner assist you in the installation process.

Step 1
Lay out your duty belt and place the duty belt keepers in the appropriate place between gear where they will not interfere with the belt loops of your pants. Do this by prying apart the keeper and sliding it over the belt. Ideally the looped end for the lock faces upward, but they are made to go either way. If you are using D-rings for suspenders they should go up.

Step 2
Lock the keeper keepers in place by pushing down and spinning the magnet and lock tab (like a clock hand) into the open looped end. Use a pair of channel locks to assist in closing the lock. (D-rings should be put into the loop prior to spinning the lock closed.) Repeat this with each keeper.

Tip: Only partially lock this clip initially to in make it easier to remove if alignment is not right.

Do NOT use a screw driver or sharp object to slide the tab as serious injury could result. Instead use needle-nosed pliers to grip and pull the tab.

Step 3
Feed your pants dress belt through the loops of an unworn pair of pants. Estimate the approximate area to place the locks and pry them apart with your thumb and slide over the belt in appropriate areas. Have a second person help you line up the locks more precisely as you wrap the duty belt around you in an attempt to line them up with the magnets. Once aligned, attach and remove the duty belt several times to ensure proper alignment before permanently riveting the locks to the dress belt.

Step 4
Carefully have the second person mark the inside of your pants belt with a pen prior to removing the pants belt from the pants.
(Tip: mark both belts inside with the pen in case they ever have to be removed.)
With the belt removed, ensure that the locks are still aligned between the pen marks before drilling a 1/8" hole through the hole in the lock with a wooden backstop. Repeat with the other locks.

Step 5
Use the included rivets to attach the locks permanently in place by sticking the long part through the countersunk hole of the lock and through the belt. Put the smaller head on the back and place on a solid surface or workbench. Gently use a hammer to tap the rivet together. Repeat with other locks on the pants belt.

Step 6
Carefully re-thread the pants belt through the loops of your pants (this is easiest done with the pants off). Put on your pants, and tighten your belt. Wrap your duty belt around your body locking the magnets into place. If the magnets do not immediately fit into place, wiggle the belt a bit to get them to properly lock. You usually get a click confirmation. Holster your weapons and equipment and go to work!
With proper alignment, you will never have to worry about belt keepers again!
